For as long as I can remember, I've loved natural beauty treatments. I"m really not big on fussing much over myself. But, My Dear Momma had me get in the routine long ago to cleanse my face and neck morning and night. We used to have fun together making oatmeal scrubs and homemade masks every now and then. Now, SHE was a natural beauty ! She had skin like porcelain. I've been thinking a lot of that lately, I've been treating myself to honey facials and sugar scrubs again. It's good and good for ya !

| I got into the sugar scrubs a little last year. In fact... I even sold them for awhile. I'd rather just share recipes and ideas that I have with you so that you can make them for yourself at home. It's really fun ! These are all things that I've found via the internet over the past few years. Oh.. these are for your body, feet and hands... (do not use the scrubs on your face) Here are a few tried and true.... |
Honey & Brown Sugar Scrub:
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp. Honey
Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Any High Grade Oil such as Jojoba or Sweet Almond Oil
1/4 tsp. Fresh Lemon Juice or Lemon Oil (If using oil use 1/8 tsp.) (Optional)
|
Pour the brown sugar in to a bowl and add in oil until the brown sugar is moist, but not too saturated. Next stir in your honey to help the whole polish come together. Drop in a dash of fresh lemon juice, and voila! You have your very own body scrub/polish that’s such a treat. Store in an airtight container. This scrub is great to help get rid of that dull winter skin and give it a good polish !
Sugar/Salt Body Scrub:
1 Cup Natural Oil
1 Cup Coarse Sugar or Salt
2-3 Drops Essential Oil
To make the scrub gradually add your oil to the sugar or salt in a mixing bowl, stirring constantly. Add in your oil until all of the sugar/salt is thoroughly dampened. Next, add your essential oils and stir mixture well. Remember to choose a neat jar to hold your scrub. I recommend a thick glass jar with an airtight lid to keep the scrub fresh. Add a bit of jute or hemp, a tag of some sort or a sprig of herbs to give your jar an extra fun touch.
When you use your scrubs, start with about a half-dollar sized amount and gently massage into your skin for a good 2-3 minutes. Remember to rinse well with warm water. They’re so simple and inexpensive…not to mention a lot of fun.

They don't seem to tell you how long to leave the masks on. I tried the first basic honey mask last night...and left it on for about 30 minutes. I loved the way my face felt after I rinsed well with warm water. Very refreshing. I'm going to use it once a week. Maybe I will become more BEAUTY FULL ( smiles )
Hope you find these helpful and fun. Enjoy the rest of your week - and DO something good for yourself !
